New Year's Updates to Work / 1/9/2023

I realized that, while this game is wholly complete, creating devlogs about its aftermath will both increase its reach to new patrons and pique the interests of current ones. So, here I am.

I will comment that much of the ground-level updates will come via the Tumblr blog, master-suite.tumblr.com, not to mention reblogs of bug pictures if I so choose (and of course reblogs of fanworks, if those occur). I ought to mention some broad sweeps here, though.

Many of the sound effects I produced for Life and Times are now available at freesound.org/people/MasterSuite/ under Creative Commons Zero, as is the collection of sounds I downloaded from the website. I encourage usage of them in one's own works, derivative or otherwise. While I do not currently have plans to release the game's OST independently, as I take little pride in it at the moment, I am open to the idea if the public desires, likely available free via Soundcloud or here.

As for future plans, I would like to clearly state I will be no one-hit developer. I currently have an entirely separate project (in the same mechanical genre and overall universe, yet divorced in setting and characters) in early development. While I cannot make any concrete statements for a game in the planning phase, especially as I have college to prepare for, I do hope for a release before October's end and for proper discussion of it during the summer. Do not hold me to these words. I will not abandon the Vastberadens entirely, so long as I can continue to develop games, yet my sights are set differently for the time being.

Lastly, I would like to gauge interest in smaller releases. I have played with the idea of my larger titles (like Life and Times) establishing new stories, and creating accompanying smaller titles (about one or two chapters in length and correspondingly lower in price) to fill in the timeline and maintain interest as I see time to do so. However, they would take at least two months to create at my current work rate, and would detract time from my larger projects, which is an especially hot commodity with the aforementioned college preparation. I do not have any clear ideas for such a title as it stands, but could create some if the demand is there.  Do let me know your thoughts in the comments section here.
